In May 2023, the draft guidelines were released for commentary and amendment development by the MNC delegates. We have heard the feedback given by individuals across groups. From this, delegates submitted 88 amendments, many of which were overlapping.

The delegates met on July 19 to discuss the amendments proposed for each competency. Following this discussion, a straw poll was conducted to gauge the delegate opinions on the most controversial topics such as the 2-year postdoctoral fellowship and DEI language, as well as the inclusion of more specific language related to brain behavior competency, forensic competency, and self-care.

The Steering Committee has also contracted with Arredondo Advisory Group to act as the consultant for the MNC. We are now on their timeline. Simultaneously, a small portion of delegates have volunteered to help edit and complete the suggestions for program implementation. This group will be meeting throughout November.
